Mr. Orange went back to the park. He walked through the park and came to the baseball field at the end. He saw some boys playing baseball. The game was almost over. He decided to sit and watch the end of the game. As he looked around at the players, he noticed that his neighbor, Will, was playing.

After the game, Mr. Orange went to talk to Will. He was so impressed with Will’s baseball skills. He wanted to ask Will about his future and his goals for playing baseball. He realized, though, that he did not know how to talk about the future. Mr. Orange stood in front of Will with a sad face.

“What’s wrong, Mr. Orange?” asked Will.

“I want to talk to you about your future, but I don’t know how. I can only talk about now, habits, and past.”

“I love to talk about my future,” said Will. “That is what I always talk about. I will tell you about my future. First I will finish school. Then I will go to college. Then I will play baseball on a college team. Then I will be the best player on the team. The national league scouts will see me play. They will be excited about my skills. They will all want me to be on their team. I will get a great contract. I will earn millions of dollars. I will be famous. I will be the best baseball player in the world!”

“Wow!” said Mr. Orange. “That sounds like a great future. Can you teach me how to make sentences like that?”

“Sure,” said Will. “You just have to use my name. Put my name before your verb. Do not do anything to change to verb. The verb will never need an ending.”

“That’s all? Let me try,” said Mr. Orange.

“OK. Go for it!”

“I will go to Hawaii this summer. I will buy a new car. I will eat pizza for dinner.”

“That’s right.”

“That’s great! Talking about the future is easy. I can see why you like it so much!”

“True. See you around, Mr. Orange,” said Will.

“Bye,” Mr. Orange replied.
