After regrouing the party headed off to Semphar, hoping to claim credit for the bandit kills.
The party arrived back in the town of Rauder. They got rooms at the inn.
Vilay left them here, he had family in town.
Lots of sleeping in, drinking, eating food that wasn't conjured by a cleric, bathing/
That evening, both Diero and Zeiden played music extremely well in the tavern. The town was honoured to have such high-class entertainment.
The party got up early, hoping to travel with one of the caravans heading to the city.
The caravan master was initially happy to have the party travel with him, but just travel, mind you, he wasn't going to pay them. However, Zeiden pulled out a rotting hand (from one of the bandits) and showed it to him, which horrified him. Zeiden, being very persuasive, talked him around, but then Diero pulled a weapon on him, scaring the caravan master, who wanted nothing to do with the party.
The party and the caravan arrived in the city of Iliphanar. It had been a frosty three days, as none of the caravan people wanted anything to do with the party. Still, safety in numbers must have worked, because no-one bothered the caravan.
The party scattered, staying at different inns.
The party met with the Ataman. She was happy that the party had dealt to the bandits (the customary proof of hands was accepted) and paid the party.
Zeiden recommended Viley to her and asked that she do something nice for him and for the village of Rauder.
That evening, the party went to the slightly less savoury part of town in search of pit-fighting, something they had been told was common in Semphar. They found it - bare knuckle boxing in a dock tavern.
Diero entered the competition and won, just, against a young lass called Arin, a sailor.
The party enjoyed the evening, going to bed with a happy buzz of cheap ale.
The party headed to the library east of Rauder. They made better time on horseback than they did when traveling with the caravan.
Around the middle of the day, the party arrived in the valley of the ruined library. They spent the remainder of the day travelling around the top of the valley, scouting the library from the ridges above.
The library appeared to be a two-storey building in an L shape, with towers at each end. There was a smaller building across a courtyard and a walled garden. There were several holes in the walls.
The party entered on hole into the garden and then inside. They found a kitchen, a grand dining room, and then a small library.
Inside the small library was a lot of water damage, mouldy paper, mildew smells, walking funguses and skeletons!
