(Details of wandering a maze, at one point visiting the same room four times in a row, omitted for sanity's sake).
During their4 wandering, the party defeated a couple of mummies. During the fight Baleon contracted mummy rot. No-one had remove curse magic, so he was forced to endure the disease until the party could rest and prepare spells.
The party experimented once with tying people together and sending them into the mist, but didn't use a long enough rope to reach the next room.
Eventually the party stumbled into a room that had a tall ceiling and a ledge around the top. Sending the sprite up, they discovered a door. Climbing up, they found passages that weren't full of mist.
Exploring the second level, they found two other rooms with high ledges and concealed doors. It seems they were there so someone could watch people blundering around the maze below.
In one room, they found a large bear squaring off against a group of undead. At one point, the bear used magic to heal its wounds. The party correctly figured it was a transformed druid and joined the fight against the undead.
The druid, after changing back to half-elven form, introduced herself as Naivarra. She had a familiar tale. Tracking some raiders, she encountered a ghostly figure talking of entering a thiefproof pyramid. She made it through the maze OK, spending most of her time as a small insect. She had explored some of the second level but had been turned back by a skeletal figure who was impervious to her weapons.
"I stuck a sword through him. He laughed. The wound didn't bleed, and closed as soon as I pulled the sword out. Same with bear claws. So, I ran, and ran into these ghouls and ghasts."
She joined the party, as they seemed to have the same goals.
The party rested for a whort time and then continued searching.
The found a room with a big statue holding a large gem, with prayer rugs covering the floor apart from a massive compass rose engraved in the floor in front of the statue. They found two hidden doors in the north of the room, so checked all of the other rooms. Sheepstrangler, focused on finding hidden doors in the walls, missed the one in the floor. He fell through and landed in a room in the maze. In the room were two minotaurs - extremely tough foes.
Sheepstrangler quaffed a potion of invisibility. This hid him from sight, but unfortunately not touch. When the minotaur found him, and attacked him, he fled from the room, into the orange mist.
While Sheepstrangler was being beaten up and forced to flee, the party stood at the top and watched. Zaiden send a few eldritch blasts at one minotaur, but when it moved out of sight, the party abandoned Sheepstrangler to his fate.
We ended the session with Sheepstrangler's fate unknown.
