STEP 1: Presentation
This teacher-created story uses a Powerpoint presentation to show images of an imaginary trip the teacher took. Below, you will see each slide of the story along with the text of the story to the right. Note, however, that when you tell the story yourself, do not read it. You can use notes to remind you of what text goes with each slide. Try to make the Presentation stage sound as natural as possible. The verbs that are to be mentioned in that particular slide are in bold. Remember, this lesson introduced Passé Composé verbs conjugated only with the auxiliary verb AVOIR.
To make the telling of the story more interactive, it is always a good idea to get the students involved. Before starting the story, choose two or three students (or ask for volunteers) to come to the front of the class. Tell them that they are to imagine that they went on the trip with you. As you tell the story, they will have to "play along" and help you to act out parts of the story. Using other students to tell the story will also allow you to incorporate more than just the "je" (first person, singular) conjugation into the story. You can now use the "nous", "on", "il/elle", "tu" and "vous" forms as well! Below is a script that can be used to tell the story. In the script below, the names Louis, Claire, and Lucille are used. However, when you tell the story, replace these names with the names of your real students! Don't forget to make the story sound natural! Use props and body language when you can to help make the story comprehensible. If you are a good enough actor, your students will understand even words and verbs that they don't already know.

Story Script
Je vais vous montrer mon album de photos de France de mon dernier voyage en France en 2007. J'ai visité la France avec Louis, Claire, et Lucille
On y va!
Nous avons acheté des billets d'avions de Phoenix à Paris! Nous avons volé de Phoenix à l'aéroport Charles de Gaulle à Paris!
D’abord, on a visité Paris.
Quand on y était, on a visité la tour Eiffel. J'ai pris beaucoup de photos et j'ai mangé un croissant à un café avec une vue extraordinaire! Louis, il a acheté beaucoup de souvenirs!
Puis, on a visité les Champs-Elysées.
Aux Champs-Elysées, (pointing to Claire and Lucille), vous avez visité les petites boutiques fameuses! Claire et Lucille ont acheté des vêtements très chics! Elles ont payé et Claire a porté son jean français pour le reste du voyage!
Après la Normandie, on a visité Bordeaux.
A la plage, Louis a parlé aux pêcheurs…
…et il a écouté des histoires à propos de la seconde guerre mondiale. Puis, il a étudié le débarquement en Normandie.
Il a décidé d'envoyer une carte postale à son grand-père aux Etats-Unis.
Après la Normandie, on a visité Bordeaux.
Nous avons visité les monuments à Bordeaux et nous avons pris plus de photos!
A un très bon restaurant au château, Louis a mangé du fromage et il a goûté du vin. Après le dîner, il y avait une fête, et on a dansé et on a chanté!!
Finalement, on a voyagé à Cannes pour le festival de film.
Tout d'abord, Claire et Lucille ont bronzé à la plage.
Ensuite, j'ai nagé dans la Méditerranée.
Lucille a dessiné sur le sable et elle a joué au volley. Moi, j'ai préféré voir la ville: les musées, les cafés, les parcs, et les rues!
Enfin, nous avons regardé des films au festival!!
Malheureusement, c'était la fin de notre voyage! Nous avons voyagé à l’aéroport Charles de Gaulle à Paris…
Nous avons volé de Paris à Phoenix.
