Bienvenue!
This site is designed to help fellow French teachers better understand the language learning process and to provide a few examples of effective teaching methods. Specifically, this site will focus on teaching past tense grammar within a meaningful context. The materials contained within this site are designed to help teachers become more effective in the classroom and to make the language learning process more interactive for students. While this site is designed for beginning teachers, more experienced teachers may also find it to be very useful. This site is not intended to be overly theoretical. Instead, it is intended to be very practical and applicable to real world classrooms. While the basic theoretical framework for the model will be presented, I invite you to visit the Resources page, where you will find supplemental materials which provide a more thorough theoretical explanation of the PACE Model. Because of the applicable nature of this site, a Key Words page has been included to help you understand some of the more specific terms used throughout the site. Take a minute to look over some of these words before you begin. This will help you better understand how the PACE Model works. Additionally, each time a Key Word appears on the site, it will be followed by an asterisk (*) indicating that the definition of the term is included on the Key Words page. To better assist you, you can click any asterisk to be redirected to the Key Words page (which will open in a new window) or you can find the link to the page in the sidebar on the left.
Please feel free to browse the site and to use what you learn in the classroom! Enjoy!
