Segundo Taller GEO FCT Regional de Monitoreo de Bosques
El Segundo Taller Regional de Monitoreo de Bosques se realizó en la semana de Octubre 19-22 en el Centro de Datos del Servicio Geológico de los Estados Unidos - EROS. Veinte participantes de Colombia, Ecuador, Perú y México asistieron a este taller. Durante la visita, se realizaron presentaciones de las diferentes capacidades de Sensores Remotos del centro, incluidas las actividades internacionales. También se presentaros los productos y datos disponibles en EROS, además de las herramientas para acceder a esos productos como son Earth Explorer, Glovis y el almacen de datos continuos. También se realizó una visita a las instalaciones, donde se pudo apreciar en funcionamiento la antena receptora de Landsat, y las salas de recepción y procesamiento de imagenes, así como el almacen de archivos de datos de EROS. Developing Consistent GEO Forest Information Products from Time-series Mid-resolution Optical Data
The Second Regional Workshop on Forest Monitoring was held during the week of October 19 to 22 at the Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) Center - U.S. Geological Survey. Twenty participants fromColombia, Ecuador, Peru and Mexico attended the workshop.
During the workshop researches conducted presentations of the different remote sensing capabilities of the center, including international activities. Also the participants were introduced to products and data available at the center servers, in addition to the tools to access these products such as Earth Explorer, Glovis and the Seamless Data Warehouse. Also, the participants visited the facilities where performance could be seen in Landsat receiving antenna as the Satelite passed over the United States. The participants visit the receiving and image processing labs at the center, as well as the warehouse for EROS data archives.
