About Members
We, the students of Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira residential college at Belur Math have made an organization for the sake of the people of the society. It is named "Baranagar swami Vivekananda Work Circle".
Every year, the current students of Vidyamandira joins this organization, working collaboratively with its dedicated members and volunteers. Within this harmonious cooperation, we forget the distinctions between seniors and juniors, uniting with a shared purpose to passionately follow and fulfill this organization's overarching goals and objectives.
It dates back to 2013, in the month of October, we, a group of young students inspired by the words and deeds of Swami Vivekananda started our journey with great zeal and enthusiasm to serve the “Living God”. The roads at the beginning of our journey were not mellifluous. It was a road full of thorns. The main constraint was crisis of money. We were mere college students, so all of us were anxious of how to continue this noble work. But Swamiji”s inspiring words gave us the will power to continue and we a group of young boys started off enchanting only one mantra---“Live For Living God”.With an motive to service this “living Narayana” we started saving our pocket money.It is often heard that great works does not come to a standstill due to shortage of money.It gains momentum if the person doing it has got willpower and determination. In our journey we were helped by a few kind hearted donors who helped us with money and provided impetus in our motive to fulfill Swamiji’s dream of serving the poor,helpless downtrodden people.
