ABOUT THE BOOK: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (1950) is a novel for children by C. S. Lewis. Most of the novel is set in Narnia, a land of talking animals and mythical creatures that the White Witch has ruled for 100 years of deep winter. The story introduces four English children living in a big, old country house during their World War II evacuation from London. The youngest visits Narnia three times via the wardrobe in a spare room. All four children are together on her third visit, and a magical adventure in Narnia begins. TIME magazine included the novel in its "All-TIME 100 Novels" (best English-language novels from 1923 to 2005). In 2003, the novel was listed at number 9 on the BBC's survey The Big Read. It has also been published in 47 foreign languages.-Wikipedia
We've got every scene in this play down perfectly - now if we could just do them all in a row...and on the same day! We are trying to get this show to run and that is no easy feat. Traveling back and forth between Narnia and England keeps our run crew on their feet and a bunch of American kids tongue-tied to keep their accents crisp. It is a special honor to be the first to open next week, but we feel the burden of having to get this done soon. Have a restful weekend everybody and we'll see you at the show!

THURSDAY JULY 3 / WEEK #4
This week we started working with our masks and they look great! We also ran most of the show. At the end of the week new lighting truss started to appear and we can't wait to get back from the 4th of July break to a new theatre set up in the Commons. Happy 4th of July everybody.
FRIDAY JUNE 27 / WEEK #3
This week we learned about stage combat and that the most important thing about think about portraying violence onstage is SAFETY! This is nothing new at CAST as you can see from the video above about our Spring 2013 production of The Outsiders. We also got most of ACT ONE done and up on it's feet and ended the week with a great performance at Parent's Day.
FRIDAY JUNE 20 / WEEK #2
This week we learned about a theatre that uses shadow puppetry. Check out the video above of kids doing a shadow puppet performance of Peter and the Wolf. We've also been working on our British accents and getting to know how our animal would walk. We have read through the script that Mac has adapted for us and are excited to be walking around on most of the set's actual platforms!
