MAKE UP: THE WEEK IN PICTURES
MARY TRAHEY was raised in a theatrical family. She did her first theatrical make-up when she was only 13 years old. After years of studying all different facets of theatre, Mary received her first formal training in make-up technique while working towards her BA at Loyola University of Chicago. She decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue more creative opportunities with make-up, and to further her education. Ironically, enough, she became involved in LA’s vibrant theatre community as a make-up and hair designer. Later, she attended Westmore Academy of the Cosmetic Arts to enhance her skills and learn new tricks for both beauty and special effects make-up in television, film, and print. Mary has been working steadily as professional make-up artist and designer for the past thirteen years. Her theatre credits include work with the Los Angeles Women’s Shakespeare Company, International City Theatre, Southern California Shakespeare Festival, El Camino College, New Trier High School, and the national touring company of Cats. She has also worked on a vast array of features, short films, web series, and music videos.
