MUSICAL THEATRE:THE WEEK IN PICTURES
ABBY LYONS is a recent graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University, where she majored in oboe performance and received training in piano, conducting, composition, and voice. As a performer Abby has played in many orchestras and bands, including the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra, Wheaton Muncipal Band and Illinois Wesleyan Civic Orchestra. She has written numerous compositions, including over 50 songs and a 25 minute miniature musical called Nigel the Penguin for Illinois Wesleyan University this April. Abby will be attending graduate school at CalArts as an MFA Composition major.

MUSICAL THEATRE: CLASS SYNOPSIS
This summer Abby is teaching a class at CAST aimed at helping students become more familiar with sightreading and performing confidently. The kids are learning ensemble pieces from musicals such as You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Beauty and the Beast, Cats, and Rent.
