Dress Appropriately - Same Lipshitz
The first time that Stewart brought me and a bunch of other yeshiva guys over to Marsha's house, before they were married, I remember Mrs. Weiss (Marsha's mother) wearing a long winter coat in the house. She wasn't sure how to dress in front of all of us yeshiva boys.
Locked Car - Marsha Sheinfeld
Stewart and I were at a fraternity party in East Rogers park with another couple before we were married. While we were leaving, he realized that he had locked the keys in the car. He couldn't get the door opened, so it ended up that he had to take a taxi home and back again to get another set of keys. (Marsha Sheinfeld)
Sports Scores - Josh Sheinfeld
When you would come home from your dates (usually with Marsha) you would ask me to fill you in on the evening's sports scores. It didn't matter that I was sleeping, I would answer.
Let's Go For a Short Walk - Shu Sheinfeld
One Shabbat afternoon in 1971 he asked me to walk with him to Marsha's house in Skokie. I didn't realize how far away it was but I agreed to walk with him. The whole way he kept asking if I was OK and when we were about 1/2 way there, he said, "Okay, we can turn back now if you want to." We finally arrived and surprised Marsha and even more so Ettie who couldn't believe he made a little girl walk so far with him.
Lost Keys - Marsha Sheinfeld
One time while Stewart and I were engaged, we borrowed my father's car and went up to Lake Geneva to the Playboy club to go skiing with some friends. We put all of our stuff in a locker, then It was Stewart's first time, so I had to show him how to ski. We first went to the bunny slopes, where he fell down quite a bit, but finally got the hang of it. We continued to ski, Stewart skiing on various different slopes, and falling down fairly often. While I was getting off one of the chair lifts, I hurt my ankle, and had to be taken down to lodge. As I was being led down there by the ski patrol, Stu came skiing up and fell flat on the ground in front of us. Stu then decided he needed to convince the ski patrol that was helping me that we needed to stay there overnight, since I was injured, even though it wasn't that bad. Well, we almost did have to stay overnight, but not because I was injured. Right before they turned out the lights, Stewart realized that the keys to the car weren't in the locker - he had left them in his coat pocket. Needless to say, they were no longer there. They could've been anywhere that Stewart had fallen. He went to look at the bunny slopes where I had first taught him how to ski, and there, just barely sticking out above the snow, were the car keys.
It Can' t Possibly Happen Twice - Shu Sheinfeld
Another story I remember is staying with Stewart and Marsha one time. Marsha came and told me we were going for a ride. We had to take Stewart to the hospital to get the eraser out of his ear. He had played with a pencil and gotten the eraser stuck in his ear. That wouldn't have been so bad had he not done it once already but gotten it out. In his infinite wisdom, he continued to play and got it stuck this time so deep that we had to go the emergency room to get the eraser out!
