ABBREVIATIONS AND OTHER INFORMATION

Genres:

AA=Action/Adventure.

RP=Role-Playing.

WG=Wargame.

ED=Educational Entertainment.

GI=General Interest.

SF=Science Fiction.

SI=Simulation.

SP=Sports.

UT=Utility.

(I tried to use the genre names listed in old SSI catalogs; unfortunately, they often changed from catalog to catalog.)

Platforms:

PC=IBM PC compatibles;

AP=Apple II series;

GS=Apple IIGS;

Mac=Apple Macintosh series;

C64=Commodore 64/128;

AM=Amiga family;

AT=Atari 8-bit family [800/XL/XE];

ST=Atari ST series;

VG=title available for at least one console [e.g., PlayStation, 3DO].

Genres followed by /T indicate that that title was a licensed product from TSR and its name is a registered trademark of TSR (and Wizards of the Coast, now, I guess). All other names are trademarks or registered trademarks of Strategic Simulations, Inc., a Mindscape company and The Learning Company. Used without permission.

A "Y" indicates that the title is (was) available for that platform. A "V" means it was announced, but never released. (The "V" stands for vaporware, get it?) "VE" indicates the title was never released in the U.S., but was in Europe (by another publisher). And if I think a game was available for a machine, I put a "?"--these were games that were at least announced, but they were announced near the end of a machine's life cycle.

My sources include old SSI catalogs, Computer Gaming World, QuestBusters, and old catalogs from the late, lamented TEVEX (the all-time greatest mail-order company in the history of Earth).

I'm still looking to make this list complete. If you know of any titles I am missing, please let me know. (I know that some of the older games, for example, were released for the TRS-80, but I don't have catalogs from that far back.)
