IBM PC Games
The following SSI games were available for IBM and compatible computers. (By modern conventions nearly all of SSI's output, and certainly all of its output as an independent publisher, are classified as DOS games, because they ran under MS-DOS. However, because MS-DOS was the basically default OS for PC compatibles throughout the 1980s (CP/M, OS/2, and early Windows notwithstanding), the company referred to its games as for IBM or IBM PC. While IBM compatibles (i.e. today's Windows-based machines for the most part) have appropriated the name PC, it stands for personal computer and all of the computers SSI supported whether from Apple, Atari, Commodore, or IBM were PCs. As such, this site will follow SSI's conventions of its era, and refer to games released for the MS-DOS/PC-compatible world as for IBM PC.)
