Upcoming Meetings

The Interest Group on Improvisation will meet jointly with our affiliate group, SEM Improvisation, at the 2012 AMS/SEM/SMT gathering in New Orleans.

DATE: Saturday, November 3rd

TIME: 12:30-1:30 p.m.

LOCATION: Astor Crowne Plaza, Astor Ballroom I

During this meeting, Chris Stover (SMT) and Mark Laver (SEM) will discuss recent research in improvisation studies. We will also plan ahead for next year’s meeting in Charlotte.

Also at the New Orleans conference, SMT Improvisation is co-sponsoring a joint session entitled “Improvisation: Object of Study and Critical Paradigm.”

The panelists are Julie E. Cumming and Roger Moseley (AMS), Bruno Nettl and Laudan Nooshin (SEM), August Sheehy and Paul Steinbeck (SMT). George E. Lewis (AMS) will serve as respondent. The session chair is Scott Currie (SEM).
