Interest Group Meeting at SMT, 2019
The Improvisation Interest Group will convene at the SMT Annual Meeting. At the meeting, we will have several speakers present lightning talks. Information on the individual talks will be shared ahead of the meeting so that members can comment and prepare discussion topics. You can access the lightning talks here. Special Session at SMT, 2019
The Improvisation Interest Group has co-organized a special session with the Music Cognition Interest Group that will be presented at SMT, 2019 entitled Musical Improvisation: Cognitive Processes, Formulas, Schemata, and Musical Structure. We will have four speakers for this event:
- Panayotis Mavromatis (NYU)
- Gilad Rabinovitch (FSU)
- Janet Bourne (UCSB)
- Andrew Goldman (UWO)
The papers for these talks will similarly be circulated ahead of the conference to invite commentary. More details to follow.
