Harriet HOOPER
My Great Great Great Great Grandmother
DNA Matched
There is no record of Harriet’s birth that I can find. A John Hooper of Kinlet, Shropshire, married Jane Roden at Willey in 1780, and in April 1782 Ann Hooper, daughter of John and Jane, was baptised in Kinlet. Also in 1782 in Kinlet, one John Hooper was buried on 5 February and another on 24 May. Seeing as no more children baptised to John & Jane Hooper can be found, it doesn’t seem unreasonable to think that one of these was Jane’s husband.
That means I am currently assuming that Harriet’s birth was illegitimate and that she took the name of her stepfather.
