At the Petty Sessions, on Tuesday, before G Pardoe, P P Williams, and John Barber, Esq, George Lambert, labourer, of Lindridge, appeared to answer a charge of trespassing in pursuit of game, on land belonging to C V Wheeler, Esq, at Newnham, on the 19th of December last. A gamekeeper in Mr Wheeler’s employ saw the defendant take a rabbit out of a wire and carry both rabbit and wire away. The occurrence took place on lands in the occupation of Mr Pugh, defendant’s master, to whom he said he was going to take the rabbit. Fined 5s and costs 12s.
