William CANNING
My Great Great Great Great Grandfather
DNA Matched
In the 1851 census, William gives his birthplace as 'Longbridge, Warwick' – the village doesn't really exist anymore, but the name persists in the name 'Longbridge Island', a large roundabout where the M40, A46 and A429 roads meet just to the south of Warwick. According to someone at the record office, the village was in the parish of St Mary, Warwick – and in the absence of any sensible alternatives – I am therefore guessing that my William is the 'William Kenning' baptised there in 1777.
