The forecast was pretty much spot on yesterday, decent wind, cold with a few light sleety showers but that didn’t stop us getting 10 rounds in.
The wind was off to the left at the start and the course way off to the left so after a couple of rounds where just about everyone cut on A and times from 45 – 53s we changed the course and re centered it on Dundee.
Times got a bit quicker in rounds 3 & 4 with Mike and George on 41 and me on 40, at the end of round 4 it was me followed by George, then Mike in 3rd.
Rounds 5 & 6 got a bit quicker again with George on 41 and Mike, Kevin and me on 40’s. Mike pushed George into 3rd at the end of round 6.
In rounds 7 & 8 I got lucky and showed the weakness of flying 2 rounds with crow through, if you hit good air twice it can be game over and my 37 & 35 were dead jammy! Kevin had a really good pair 40 & 41 which pushed him up to 2nd at the end of round 8 but then he had to go as his girlfiend was freezing and had been quite patient enough!
We got another two rounds in but George’s Pike went into failsafe with a low battery after his crow through so he only got to fly one of them. With Kevin out the previous order was resumed with results as follows:
1 Peter Gunning 8879.42 1000.00
2 Mike McCracken 8381.23 943.89
3 George Young 8030.82 904.43
4 Ewan Maxwell 7984.07 899.16
5 David Watson 7402.58 833.67
6 Kevin Newton 7283.73 820.29
FTD Peter Gunning 35.03
After the comp, the weather closed in a bit with the worst snow shower of the day, time to leave! Great to get a comp in despite the weather.
