Another good day on the hill. It was blowing around 10ms and straight on when we arrived, if a little colder than the forecast said in the wind.
There were seven of us in the end as we were joined by Piet from Forth Valley Soarers who had a go with his foamie for a couple of rounds and seemed to enjoy it. We hope to see him again with his Strega once its repaired.
Now I’m not saying it was variable today, but we all took a proper pasting from Mike! I made an OK start with a couple of sub 50’s but that was pretty much the last sniff of any decent air I got until the very last round. Kevin had one sub 50 in round 1, but similarly only had another couple the rest of the day winning round 3 to boot. Ewan had a couple of rounds in good air and one was stonking good air with a round win in 4 with 2nd fastest time of the day, a 41.57.
Apart from that, Mike won 10 out of 12 rounds and was untouchable, taking FTD in round 6 with a 39.77. Even when he didn’t get good air, he was still pretty quick so he officially inherits the title ‘golden balls’ for the season! Dave didn’t get much in the way of good air but did a lovely couple of flicks in round 8 to keep us entertained. Robert caught some good air and was flying well, with a really nice 45.88 in round 10 to send him home happy.
