BUILDING THROUGH  THE DRAFT

Some teams believe that compiling numerous draft picks is the best way to fill holes and improve. This year the following teams lead the WWBA in the number of Rookie Picks they have amassed: Toronto leads with 11 picks while Suffolk County and Concord have 10 each

TAMPA NAMES NEW MANAGER AGAIN

After the death of their 1st manager, Earl Weaver and the lifetime MLB ban on his replacement John Coppolella for cheating, the Tampa Tigers have named Chuck Knoblauch as their field manager.

The Marshall 2bman had a monstrous 2017 campaign leading the WWA in HRs with 58, Slug % with a .638 mark, Runs with 132 and XBH with 102 to capture the 2017 POY title. 2nd in the votng was another 2bman, DJ LeMahieu of Peninsula, who led the WWBA with a .378 batting avg, 4th highest in N.L. history, and a .438 OB%. 3rd place went to Chilliwack ace Jose Quintana who posted a 20-4 record while leading all of baseball with a minuscule 2.36 ERA
