Everything seemed OK so I lifted the engine out again to do some maintenance work as the clutch and fuel pump seal needed replacing.
When I took the clutch out the friction plate was so worn that the rivet was cutting a groove on the pressure plate...Luckily there was no damage done to the fly wheel...
The engine mount was tack welded into the chassis while I had the engine hanging in the engine bay the first time.
At this stage the original engine mount was cut-out completely.
View of the engine mount from underneath. Work still in progress as it required further reinforcement.
It took a bit of a jump but this is after all the welding is finished and transmission fitted with the engine...however there the tranmission mount has not been re-constructed as yet. The stick peaking out of the hole on the transmission tunnel is the shift lever...notice how close it is to the bulk head.
You'd need a broom stick to make it accessible form the driver seat.
If this was fitted in a Transit, the driver would be sitting nearly on top of the transmission.
