The Aftermath
The extent of destruciton was far greater than what I have imagined...
This is the piece of transmission tunnel cut away. I thought I migh take a photo of it before I dump it.
All the junk and removede bits an dpieces pushed into the corner...I'll have to clean this up...
Cans after cans of aerosol paint and cleaner fluid....a 2.5kg tub of body filler also. Most of it got used up on the bonnet alone....
Finally the centre grill painted...It looks passable form a distance however I seemed have messed up the surface finish...
The plan was to make it into a brushed finish like brushed stainless steel sheet...using hammarite Black hammered finish...
I could have bought a normal auto paint but instead of flat plain finish I thought something similar to a wrinlke or brush finish might be nicer so I opted for some experimental work...It tuned out it did not really work out that well.
Thanks to the bits of metal flake in the hammer finish paint brings out a bit of sparkle in the black and I really like the colour...But anywhere closer than 3m the flaw becomes visible...
