Welcome to the Web Site of the Boise Schwarthoff Family!
Please check back for new pictures once a month!
Singing Händel's Messiah for 2000 people is an awesome experience.

The smell of Linzer Torte and cookies fills the house.
Thank you, God!
Not much of an October yet. The family is enjoying vacation on the farm.
Group photo with a bunch of cousins:
And now I'm off to Germany!
That August was not great this year. Cool and wet at times, and nobody expected it. A visit to Germany is coming up in October, which will weigh on the finances, because flying is not as cheap as it once was.
This lady is
three years
old now.
We spent Labor Day near Wallowa Lake in Eastern Oregon, where the salmon spawn.
The kids held out pretty well in a freezing night in their tent. Hiking the mountains, seeing the peaks and streams, and picking apples and cherries from the trees was worth it.
Today, someone asked me about the World Cup. After hearing that I was German.
Vacation time came, so we packed the bikes and swimsuits into the camper and headed North. Idaho is beautiful, with forests, lakes, streams, mountains, and artful towns.
A hike up lookout mountain above Priest Lake.
Another hike around Round Lake, near Sandpoint, Idaho. The campsite is just 3 hours from Boise on the Salmon River (Lower O'Brian).
YES, the kitchen is done!!! I'll post a picture when I get a good one.
Sorry, Germany. No more victories.
Here is Noah's idea of fashion:
two different socks, both inside out.
We are off to Priest Lake, Idaho, with the Camper.
Noooo, the kitchen is not done. The upper cabinet doors have arrived, but the glass inserts were too large - another 2 weeks to get that fixed. In between rain showers, the parents get some exercise, while the boys learn how to ride their bikes without training wheels. If that were only finished already.
Thank you to some of you, who sent family photos!!
Everything we are doing in the kitchen takes twice as long as usual. Most of our cooking things are in some box we have to find first. We are amazed nonetheless about how it is coming together. Hopefully, all is done by next month. The Wohnwagen stayed home last weekend, because it was 6 degrees and raining.
All you families out there! If you see all those pictures, don't you want to send some of yours to us??
Here is the solution. Tell us what you think!
One day, recently:
"Abraham, on Sundays we wear socks of the same color."
One day, recently:
"Helena, do you want salt on your egg?" Helena: "Yes, please."
"Do you want to eat your egg?" Helena: "No."
One day, more recently:
"Noah, how old are you today?" Noah: "5!"
About the yard projects: Activities have kicked into high gear. Excavation for the new stone path has begun, our heads are spinning from 1 million contractor interactions for our kitchen remodel, the new door handles are already installed (with the yucky golden round knobs gone), and the fireplace cover can be picked up from the metal shop.
There suddenly is a new car. Stay tuned for next month to find out why. Bye Bye Volkswagen!
Winter - not too cold, but enough to long for the skiers that are sliding down the distant mountain. Hallo, Vancouver!
Yes, it's the time to plan the summer camping. All the cabins are already taken. We are also setting up the yard projects, so we can start, when the rains stop.
We are thankful for a new year. Let's cut everyone's hair.
