The skill for negotiation in environmental management is crucial in satisfying the needs of multiple stakeholders. In order to come up with a win-win situation, environmental leaders must not only have the technical knowledge of environment dynamics but also should act with a holistic view of environment, economy and society in building consensus amongst the involved stakeholders. In this workshop, the presenter will discuss about the skills required for the environmental leader and challenges in breaking the deadlock for fruitful negotiations. In addition, below will be intensively discussed to achieve this goal;

1. Abilities of an ideal environmental leader,

2. Characteristics of environmental issues,

3. Stakeholders interest,

4. Role playing for demonstrating negotiations and

5. Learning from History – Case of Minamata Japan
