Satreps Workshop Series - 6

Application of GBHM in Tonle Sap Lake basin

Date: 9th March 2018, Fri., 13:30 – 17:00

Venue: Room A207, Institute of Technology of Cambodia

Facilitator: Mr. Siev Sokly (WG2), Tokyo Institute of Technology

Outline: Tonle Sap Lake (TSL) has a unique hydrological environment that plays an important role in the active exchange between TSL and the Mekong River (MR) through reversal flow. Aside from MR, 11 principle tributaries drain directly into the lake as another important source of water. To understand hydrodynamic in TSL system, hydrological information in TSL basin is essentially important for simulating surface water dynamics in TSL. Thus, the main goal is to apply Geomorphology-Based Hydrological Model (GBHM) in the TSL basin to simulate the flow in the TSL basin. In this workshop items below will be intensively discussed to achieve this goal:

1. Introduction to GBHM

2. Paramaters and code in GBHM

3. Model running, calibration and validation in TSL basin
