1 cup shortening (6.5 oz)
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
½ cup granulated sugar (3.5 oz)
1 cup brown sugar (7.5 oz)
2 eggs
1 tsp. soda
2 ¼ cups flour (11 oz)
1 pkg. chocolate chips (I prefer the Guittard red bag, which is extra dark)
Combine shortening, salt, and vanilla. Add sugars gradually and cream well. Add eggs and mix well. Sift soda with flour. Add flour to creamed mixture and mix well. Add chocolate chips and blend. Drop from a tablespoon onto an ungreased baking sheet. Bake in 350° oven for 9 minutes.
