Module Code: 7005 CEM
Module Title: Automotive Networking and Signal Processing
Date: 2018/19 Academic Year - Semester 2
Reflection on the student feedback:
This was the first time this module was delivered. The MEQ result shows that the overall student satisfaction for this module was 71.5%. Out of 7 students who contributed to the survey, 5 agreed that they are very much happy with the module delivery. One student mostly disagreed and one responded with a neutral answer (neither agree nor disagree) which is statistically considered as a negative answer.
Overall, the module was delivered well and students appreciated the effort put by the lecturer. 100% of the students agreed that the lecturer is good at explaining things clearly. The students also acknowledged the skillful presentation of the otherwise difficult field of DSP, and also careful and thorough design of the labs to learn and utilise DSP methods. However, students have mentioned that there should be more DSP lab practices and it should be more towards automotive field. Based on the current year observation and experience, I will adjust the content of the module in the following year.
In order to improve the overall satisfaction rate, following changes would be considered for the next academic year:
1. Although equal time was allocated to both lecture and lab, from now on more time will be given to lab and practical examples;
2. The DSP part will be oriented more towards automotive field (the concepts are the same but more practical examples from automotive area will be provided). The networking section is already about automotive;
3. The coursework will be released earlier.
