Wusb
Technic :
Use the IEEE802.15.3a
this technology is used in WPAN (Wireless Personal Area Network)
The Standard who is used is from WiMedia Alliance
WiMedia Alliance :
MB-OFDM (MultiBand Orthogonal Freq Division Multiplexing )
Data is send via short week signal pulses (little energy needed J battery friendly)
And this via different channels in de freq. bands from 3.1<>10.6 Ghz.
Data rate of 480Mbiz ( in the future 1Gbiz )
WPAN differs with WAN that its for short distances
Less then 3m è 480Mbiz ; 10m è 110Mbiz.
Host/client
The new client make contact with the host via manual verification procedure
(e.g.: password etc…) bleutooth alike . Then the data is transmitted encrypted
(wifi alike) ; in the future they want use smartcards for quicker verification.
Once the host and client are synchronised no further verification needed.
The host can make contact with 127 clients.
Wusb products can function as host and as client (passive).
Bluetooth and FireWireless:
Also Bluetooth will make use of the WiMedia Alliance standard MB-OFDM
Buth use smaller spectrum of freq bands between 6<>10.6 GHz.
Firewireless will use probably the same standard ?
Europe:
Not like America, in Europe they have not give their approval because they
Are afraid for interferences in the large spectrum
of the freq bands 3.1<>10.6 Ghz.
WiMedia Alliance says that there will be less problems with interferences
Because of the very week pulse energy !
Notes:
Freescale chips already have a 110Mbiz speed and the next step is in devloppement to reach 1Gbiz buth they have ther own non capatible standard with WiMedia Alliance !
