Since 1988, Rotary club of Belgaum has been relentlessly working with SCAW Canada in distributing slumber kits to poor and needy children. Thousands of children from the remote villages in Belgaum district have received bed kits.
Our Volunteers identify backward and remote areas surrounding Belgaum. They visit the schools and homes of these children to make sure only the needy children are selected. We go an extra mile to see that the best quality items are purchased at most competitive prices so that maximum items can be included in the bed kit. Some items are fetched from places as far as 2000 Km. These items are then packed in a kit and distributed in the presence of Canadian Team.
Each $35 (Rs 2150) donation provides a bedkit that consists of a mat or mattress, pillow, sheet, blanket, mosquito net, clothes outfit, sweater and school supplies.
