12.0 - ACADEMIC BACKGROUND – REYNALDO O. JOSON

(6 most important information that will reflect excellence, innovation, dedication and service – listed in Nos. 1 to 6 but with additional ones after No. 6.)

*The MSc in Clinical Medicine (Surgery) was approved by the UPM University Council circa 1990 during the Department of Surgery chairmanship of then Dr. Alfredo Ramirez. Initially, Dr. Ramirez made it a requirement for new consultants to the Department of Surgery to take the MSc. Under the grandfather clause, ROJoson was not required to take the MSc. However, he decided to take it to set an example for the other consultants to follow. The other reason was that he liked to enhance his being a 5-star physician as the MSc in Surgery developed competencies not only in surgery, but also research, teaching and management. In 1998, he was the first graduate of MSc in Clinical Medicine (General Surgery).

**ROJoson took 3 Masters (MHA, MHPEd, MSc Surg) to enhance his being a 5-star physician, namely:

§ MD-Community Health Problem Solver

§ MD-Educator

§ MD-Researcher

§ MD-Manager
