Instructions to Patients:
Pls. SMS ROJoson for a booked appointment –Complete Name; Concern (eg, Breast, Thyroid, Gallbladder, etc.); Preferred Date and Time of Appointment [Dr Joson gave out cell number.]
ROJoson will text back and give official booked appointment.
Confirm one day before booked appointment before 12 noon.
Sample of ROJoson’s issued booked appointment:
Name of Patient – Your booked appt is on Feb 9, 950am. Bring previous med records. Be at clinic at 920am and tell secretary of your arrival time. Late arrival may mean cancellation of appt. SMS to confirm one day before appt date and before 12 noon. Thank you. Dr. Rey
Narrative Summary:
· I have been arriving on time (15 to 35 minutes earlier from booked start of clinic).
· I started seeing patients earlier than my official start of clinic session.
· Range of consultation time is 5 to 57 minutes with a mean of 10 to 16 minutes.
· Range of waiting time from booked appointment time to end of consultation time is (16) to 96 minutes with mean of 18.8 to 39.8 minutes.
· Range of waiting time from time of arrival of patient to end of consultation is 30 to 230 minutes with mean of 60 and 118 minutes.
· The waiting time from time of arrival of patient to end of consultation is longer for those without booked appointment: 49 to 83 minutes (with prior booking) and 73 to 167 minutes (no prior booking).
· I have set the target of waiting time for those with booked appointment at 90 minutes. I have not completely achieved this target as the range is (16) to 96 minutes [6 minutes variance – one patient only]. The mean, however, ranges from 18.8 to 39.8 minutes. I have to work on this with consultation time management strategy.
· I have no control on the waiting time of those without booked appointment. I just have to tell them to text for a booked appointment time so that they will not wait too long.
