Myron W. Robinson was the eldest son of Isaac and Katharine Robinson. He was born in Amsterdam NY, but by the time he was ten years old, the family moved to Johnstown, NY where Myron lived his entire life as a stone mason.
On March 20, 1866, Myron married Marietta Argersinger (1845-1922), the daughter of another stone mason, Michael Jacob Argersinger (1805-1892) and Catherine Veghte (1811-1859). Shortly after the wedding, Myron, along with his brothers and his father, won the contract to construct the United Presbyterian Church in Johnstown (completed in 1868). Since the Argersingers were heavily involved with the U.P. Church, it could be speculated that Myron's marriage to Marietta may have influenced who was awarded the contract. Regardless of possible nepotism, the church is a very charming structure, and it should also be noted that there is a very nice stained glass window dedicated to Michael Jacob Argersinger and another to Marietta's brother, Leonard.
Together Myron and Marietta raised seven children: Minnie Robinson Perry (1867-1955), Susan Robinson Button (1870-1933), George Argersinger Robinson (1875-1946), Frederick Michael Robinson (1877-1936), Elizabeth Robinson Chamberlain (1880-1968), Blanche Robinson (1883-1888), and Herbert Robinson (1889-1954).
