Chat commands (lower case):
'A' start autorotation (read below!)
'C' toggles dynamic cam on/off (may u wanna use your own cam)
'HELP' to see this short manual again
'H' turn off air pressure simulation (you need this option if you will fly higher then 350m)
'I' brings collective info to chat message
MOUSE KLICK toggles cyclic Key mode while in mouselook
'M' enables precision mouse steering (read below about that great feature)
'MS' center mouse
'MI' invert mouse
'M+' 'M-' adjust crosshairs height
'N' pitch angle to zero (try bring your heli in neutral position)
'P' auto collective on/off (nice helper)
'START' 'STOP' the engine
'T' toggles turbulences soft/norm/hard
TOUCH the helicopter for the 12 color menu
Fly the Hiller Clone:
Collective/RotorBlades-Pitch with PageUp/PageDown or E/C >>> 50% for neutral hovering
(note: there is a simulated ground effect + air pressure changes neutral point for hovering)
Cyclic/Yaw control with WASD or with the Arrow Keys
and SHIFT + A/D (or Arrow Keys) lets move your helicopter sidewards (not in ML)
While in mouselook (key mode or precision flight mode you can switch between normal and cyclic steering.
In cyclic mode your left/right key's lets you move sidewards. (SL cannot read shift while in mouselook)
Precision Flight Mode:
Go in mouselook while engine stoped or collective is 0 (non physical) !!!
Enter 'M' in chat to activate precision flight mode (the crosshairs are now brighter)
If the crosshairs not exactly in a line with the horizon use 'M+' or 'M-' to adjust height
Center your mouse exactly in the middle from crosshairs
Set your mouse neutral point with 'MS' (depends on your avatar height; Default setting is my avatar size 70)
Start engine, add collective slow over 50%
The Hiller Clone will no follow your mouse in direction you move > Stay with smal moves and return to center from crosshairs to stop any rotation from the helicopter.
At the beginning this steering option isn't easy, but after a while u get a great 'analog' feeling!
Autorotation:
- Chat command 'A' and then you have to concern fast:
- Engine will stop and collective will fall to 41% immediatly. The blades have a minimum restistance to air flow
- Pitch nose down to keep speed about 4-7m/s. This keeps your rotor spinning, driven from the air flow trough the blades
- Close to the ground start increase collective. Do not do that to early: more collective u have faster the energy in the rotors are lost!
- 3-5m above ground pitch the nose up to flare out and increase in same time collective to 50%
> A good landing should have forward speed about 0-4m/s and vario rate -1m/s
> This manouvers needs lot practice until the 'hard landing' messages not appear after touch down! But: You can do it!
> The helicopter will disappear after stand up. You need rezz a new one, because the scripts are not longer in a valid status.
