1. The HUD

2. Chat commands
After sit in the Chinook touch the menu button on HUD to get the main menu.
Other way: using chat commands:
> 'D' Side door (not realy usable)
> 'DD' Main door (you can walk in the helicopter)
> 'START' / 'STOP' for the engine
> 'B' Wheels brakes: if at ground and speed < 1 m/s
> 'L' for position lights
> 'P' toggle autopitch: Heli try hold level with collective/pitch
> 'A' switch display between level above sea level and real altitude above ground
> 'T' toggles turbulences and crosswinds ON/OFF:, default setting is ON!!!
> 'R' rezz the boat or your personal item**
> 'REFUEL' if gasoline empty (make sure you wear the HUD)
To see the commands again type: 'help' in public chat
3. Take off and fly:
Best flight experience you will have in Mouselook.
- Sit in (select the main rotor as the pilot
- Copilot touch sign left from cockpit, Guests touch the seats inside
- Accept wear the Chinook Body (all what you see from chinook is a attachement part. (excl.rotors!)
- Wait until CH-47 is intialised (chat message)
- Start the engine with menu or chat command (takes 30 seconds)
If at ground &
Collective less 20% will set you heli in Taximode
Collective less 20% AND speed less 1 m/s enables set brakes
- Add pitch from rotorblades (collective) to 51% or more. Heli beginns to rise... (50% pitch is neutral hovering without movement in any direction. Except the turbulences!)
- Touch FWD (Cyclic) DO NOT HOLD FWD BUTTON! > Heli takes nose down and get fwd-speed but loses altitude. Add collective to compensate this...
- Watch your speed and altitude...
- SHIFT+LEFT/RIGHT lets you move your heli sideways (not in mouselook!)
Hint: 55-62% collective for a smooth forward flight... while you hold flight level with cyclic
- To hover and dont care about height use autopitch, so you can see how collecive have to co-operate with cyclic steering/ pitch from chopper)
Water landing:
- Bring your heli soft down on water surface
- Reduce collective > watch floating height! :-)
You can stop the engines. The CH-47 will swimm with his gasoline tanks on sides. Heli will stay physical and simulates soft waves simulation instead turbulences. Helicopter goes non-physical if you stand up
To start from water add collective over 52%
After turn off engines wait 10s before stand up!
4. The Crane
Rezz the "CH-47 LOAD something" on the ground. Or make your own: Just put the "CH-47 LOAD 2.6" script in the root prim from your object. > You can rezz how many things as you like. But never activate more than one!
The trigger button on crane HUD send on chat channel -4422004 the string 'trigger'. You can use this in your own reciver script to create your own function.
How to use:
Bring your Chinook over the deactivated load at any altitude. Keep a minimum from 10 meters.
HINT: To see heli and ground use TOP CAM preset. Watch your height! Autopitch can help now...
Touch the load one time to activate it > The particle rope will start and your heli and the load are connected but not active
Make sure you still hover the load! If not, try to bring your heli back over the load > TOP CAM still helps
Touch the Hook button on the HUD > now your load is definitly activated and 'hanging' under your Chinook.
Add 1-2% collective to lift your load from ground (make sure you turn off autopitch)
Congratulation: You flying now a fantastic looking sl-vehicle combination in the air!!
Be slow while crossing sims! (speed < 5m/s)
If land does not allow move objects, or parcell is full your load will be stucked!
(Your Chinook dosent care about full parcells!) thx to Yevad!

5. Drop function
Something new in a product from Real Flight: Drop a object from your CH-47 chinook.
(if rezzing is allowed on the land you are flying)
As default a smal boat (also in package you recived) is in the last child prim in the back from the CH-47. Choose 'drop' from menu or type 'R' in chat to rezz the boat. Boat starts with a running script and is it driveable for all. Boat is temporary rezzd: It will be gone after 60 seconds no avatar sit on it. After stand up from boat again 60s ti derezz. Maximal periodic time for rezzing a new boat (object) are 6 seconds.
**Ok for the boat... Now you can add your own object:
Edit the physical part from the chinook. (Not the visible body) maybe start select with a rotor. Choose in edit window 'Edit linked parts' and select the last prim in the back named 'Object rezzer'. (maybe you use [ctrl+alt+T] to see alpha textures) This prim contains a script and the Zodiac boat. This prim allows you drop your own object in content.
Oky, drag and drop something from your inventar in... (maybe the 'Box with parachute' from your Chinook folder?) If you doing all right the helicopter will confirm name from new item and is ready to rezz your object. To go back have a boat rezzable start edit again and drop the Zodiac boat in the child prim.
Do not littering with objects! Good thing is make object temporary (and physical) before put in the chinook! And/Or use the 'Anti littering' script and put it in your object. You can edit the time until object will die.
6. Additional informationes
- Each Chinook using a induvidual transmission channel for communication between helicopter - HUD - Crane. No interferences between other helis. Usage in same sim is only limmited from server.
- After get out from Chinook he will automaticly detach the attachement part from your avatar and rezzing a new one in world (if rezzing is alowed on the parcel you are in).
- Trigger button send also the string 'trigger' on channel -4422004. Use that for your own functions
- Your chinook dident care about full parcells. Just watch the bannlines (50m?) while crossing continents. Thx to Yeavad Doobie for that trick!
