Longlist for 2011-2012
Looking ahead!
The Red Dot Awards 2011-2012
Long-lists
Long-lists of books for all of us to read between now and September, when the official short-lists will be set, have been created.
We have also re-named our categories to focus on readers, rather than book formats or school divisions. (NB: It is up to every librarian to determine which books are right for which grades in your school.)
Click on each below to see the 2012 Long-lists in our GoodReads account.
Early Years (ages 3-7) -- (formerly Picture Books)
Younger Readers (ages 7-10) -- (formerly Junior)
Older Readers (ages 10-14) -- (formerly Middle)
Mature Readers (ages 14-Adult) -- (formerly Senior)
Read and Vote for your Favorites over the next few months
GoodReads has a Listopia feature where anyone can vote on books in a list. Each of our long-lists has been added -- feel free to go there and vote on our books as you read them. This will be a great help to the Red Dot Committee when selecting the short-lists in September. Feel free to also indicate in your review/vote whether you think the book is in the right category.
You are also welcome to add new books to the long-list -- via Listopia. In nominating new books, remember: they must have been published in English in the past four years to qualify. So for the 2011-2012 long list, books must have been published in 2008, 2009, 2010, or 2011.
