The Rockwall Amateur Radio Club (RARC) was formed in 1999 to share and promote amateur (ham) radio and to provide communications for Rockwall area public events and emergencies. The club is open to all licensed hams and to anyone interested in learning more about ham radio and getting licensed are welcome to come visit.

ARRL Field Day 2026
In 2025 after having poor band conditions on the upper bands limiting the number of operators who could get on the air we decided to try something new. This year we moved our field day site to the Dr Gene Burton College and Career Academy with our goal was to be able to operate class 8A and have eight operators on the air at the same time, four on phone and 4 on CW or Digital. We hoped the larger outdoor space the academy provided would allow us to setup antennas in a way that would allow 2 operators on each band 40 through 10 meters and not interfere with each other. After a lot of testing, a lot of trial and error, and still more testing we were able to raise 4 inverted V antennas and found a null where we could raise a multi-band vertical and not interfere with each other. Eight operators on four bands and field day was a big success. In addition the academy's school club was also able to operate a GOTA station under their call sign KR5ISD. Our thanks go out to the staff at the Burton Academy for hosting us and the Rockwall County OEM for the use the county's comm trailer. We look forward to doing this again in 2027.
Tuesday Nights with RARC
Tuesday night is meeting night for RARC. Join us each Tuesday night for our on air informational net. We meet on the KK5PP repeater*; 441.525 MHz PL 141.3 at 7:00pm. The only time we do not have this is on the 3rd Tuesday of the month when we have our club meeting.

* Note: In the event that if the above repeater is not operational on net night a backup repeater, K5RKW is available at 442.8375 MHz Narrow FM with a PL tone of 162.2.
