K5RKW America250 Worked All States Special Event

Severe Winter Weather had forced the club to cancel its annual Winter Field Day at Wind Point Park, however we rescheduled the venue for March 14/15 and participated in the ARRL America250 WAS event celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States. The club operated under the K5RKW call sign as an ARRL Affiliated club and QSOs with K5RKW qualified as a contact with a affiliated club in Texas. 

We couldn't ask for better weather for the event, however the solar weather was so good. Solar storms had wreaked havoc on propagation that morning and it was only in the afternoon that 20 and 40 meters started to open up. In spite of the poor band conditions club members still manage to have a good time.
