Welcome to the Rockwall Amateur Radio Club
The Rockwall Amateur Radio Club (RARC) was formed in 1999 to share and promote amateur (ham) radio and to provide communications for Rockwall area public events and emergencies. The club is open to all licensed hams and to anyone interested in learning more about ham radio and getting licensed are welcome to come visit.

December 16 - There is no In-Person Club Meeting in December.
December 18 - "The Retro Rewind Net" hosted by W5TXX on the K5RKW (Courthouse) repeater. This is a new net celebrates movies from the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s. For more information go to Retro Rewind Net
December 25 - Is Christmas day, so "Hams for Lunch" is cancelled for December

Pass The Bill, The ARRL Grassroots Campaign
The ARRL has launched a grassroots campaign to pass the Amateur Radio Emergency Preparedness Act. This legislation would grant Hams who live in HOA or other deed restricted properties the same rights to install antennas on their properties enjoyed by users of television antennas, wireless internet, and flagpoles. The ARRL has made it simple to send letters to your congressmen with a form on their website. You do not have to be a member of the ARRL to use this form.

School Club Roundup at the Gene Burton College & Career Academy
Saturday November 15 the RARC gathered at the East Pavilion in Rockwall's Harry Myers Park for Radio in the Park, a mini field day. The club's president Ron N5YDX put in an order for perfect weather and that's what we got. We had 24 people attend including four students from the radio club at Gene Burton College and Career Academy, call sign KR5ISD. Two had recently passed their technician class license exam and received new HTs provided by the RARC.

The event included setting up and operating radios, a fox hunt, and lunch. It was a great day to be outdoors at the park with fellow hams.
Tuesday Nights with RARC
Tuesday night is meeting night for RARC. Join us each Tuesday night for our on air informational net. We meet on the KK5PP repeater*; 441.525 MHz PL 141.3 at 7:00pm. The only time we do not have this is on the 3rd Tuesday of the month when we have our club meeting.

* Note: In the event that if the above repeater is not operational on net night a backup repeater, K5RKW is available at 442.8375 MHz Narrow FM with a PL tone of 162.2.
