The Rockwall Amateur Radio Club (RARC) was formed in 1999 to share and promote amateur (ham) radio and to provide communications for Rockwall area public events and emergencies. The club is open to all licensed hams and to anyone interested in learning more about ham radio and getting licensed are welcome to come visit.

Upcoming Events
October 12 - "Krewe of CW Lunch" at 11:00a at Jason's Deli, 819 I-30 Frontage Rd, Ste 130, Rockwall, TX 75087. To find out about the Krewe go to Krewe of CW Net.
October 17 - "Fox Hunt" starts at 10:00a and ends at 11:30a. The starting point is TBA. For more information go to RARC Fox Hunts.
October 19, 20, 22 - "School Club Roundup". Get ready to work some vhf/uhf simplex and HF groundwave and plan to make some QSOs with the KR5ISD radio club at the Gene Burton College and Career Academy. Operating hours will be Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 9am - 3pm.
October 20 - Club Meeting at 7:00p at Soulman's BBQ, 691 East I30, Rockwall, TX 75087. Go to Monthly Club Meetings for more information.
October 22 - "Hams for Lunch" at 11:00a at Joe Willy's 2006 S. Goliad St. Rockwall, TX 75087

POTA at Tyler State Park
The club met Saturday September 19 to activate Tyler State Park. While it's a little farther that we usually travel for a POTA Tyler State Park is a really nice park to with excellent facilities and a great staff. While Texas is still experiencing higher than normal temperatures this September the pavilion we occupied tucked in the trees with its ceiling fans made for a comfortable activation. A number of members came with seven operating and the rest lending support. Our location near a trailhead brought in a number of visitors interesting in what we were doing. The seven who operated made 10 cw, 41 data, and 28 phone contacts for a total of 79 QSOs, a very successful POTA. I think we will look forward to visiting this park again sometime in the future.
Tuesday Nights with RARC
Tuesday night is meeting night for RARC. Join us each Tuesday night for our on air informational net. We meet on the KK5PP repeater*; 441.525 MHz PL 141.3 at 7:00pm. The only time we do not have this is on the 3rd Tuesday of the month when we have our club meeting.

* Note: In the event that if the above repeater is not operational on net night a backup repeater, K5RKW is available at 442.8375 MHz Narrow FM with a PL tone of 162.2.
