off-centre full wave dipole

The diploe illustrated here is of the off-centre dipole variety. The principle of the antenna coupling is via a 1:1 balam, to convert the unbalanced co-axial input to the balanced antenna load of the off-centre full wave length dipole.

The calculations of the diploe wire dimensions or metal tubing are shown as a percentage of the operating band wavelength. the 8% section is the 50ohm tuning or matching section to impedance match the unbalanced co-axil input to the 92% wavelength radiating segment. The antenna design is an overall full wave length. Should the radio ham or short wave listener wish to extend the 92% radiating section to a greater wire physical length, then this can be accomplished without altering the 8% tuning or matching section.
