Install a simple LED lighting assembly by soldering 4 wires and have a superior display in minutes!

This simple mod will COMPLETELY CHANGE the look of your rotor control eliminating the dull yellow-white meter appearance and replacing it with a bright pure white look that is extremely easy to read.

Note, in the photo above, the plastic meter body was discolored by the heat of the bulb. This is not be easily cleaned in all cases.

Important Notice

In 2013-2014 HyGain introduced a new control unit with a significantly different meter movement and mechanical mounting arrangement. The RotorBrite is NOT compatible with these new control units as the meter is clipped into a bezel which grips the top of the meter.

The RotorBrite© kit uses SMD LED's to illuminate the meter movement with a clean white light across the entire width of the meter. FIVE white LED's, with Full Wave Bridge rectifiers and current limiting resistors come as a kit of parts or fully assembled on a custom PCB. The PCB has full solder mask. The low profile LED's allow the assembly to be mounted to the top of the meter with double sided foam tape. Solder 2 wires to the antiquated bulb socket and assembly is nearly complete in just minutes!

But wait! There's more!

The RotorBrite© includes dual RED LED's in the center of the lighting strip. Solder 2 more connections to the control rear terminals pins 1 & 2 and the Red LED's illuminate when the Brake is energized! This is useful on older controls which don't have any indication of the Brake solenoid being engaged.

This photo was taken by John K9EL and shows the PCB installed on top of the meter. Two wires from the WHITE terminals are soldered to the empty bulb socket. Two more wires from the RED terminals are in parallel with the Brake circuit.

The kit includes Surface Mount Devices (SMD) for size 1206 LEDs, Resistors and Rectifiers. You should be familiar with surface mounting. These can be hand soldered using a small iron and tweezers. If you are concerned about SMD, please order the assembled version.
