Yawurenyi, ancient and modern

 People

The speakers of these various languages are themselves called the Yawurenyi, and are humanoid in appearance with generally black hair and blue eyes, with their semi-prehensile tails covered in soft dense black fur, and their skin bearing a bluish cast due to genetic methemoglobinemia. The Yawurenyi’s methemoglobinemia appears to be well tolerated with little to no adverse symptoms reported for the majority of the populace, with exceptions potentially caused by other conditions.
