Rofefä has a new roommate, a young human named Enrique Cruz. Enrique can’t eat any of the food Rofefä has so they go out to buy some from the market in Wisdom City. Neither has visited the city before.

 Cruz: Do you know where the market is, Ryësel?

Ryësel: I think it may be west of here, past that house there.

They walk over there and find themselves surrounded by the city guard. Enrique walks up to one guard.

Cruz: Excuse me sir, we are lost. Where is the market?

Guard: Human and Yawurenyi, get back to the city center, there is a predator prowling the area! The city center is south of here, but head east down the road you came first and then south.

Ryësel: Thank you very much sir. We are able-bodied young men; would our aid be of any use?

Guard: Yawurenyi, I may be able to find a job for you. What is your name? Are you skilled?

Ryësel: My name is Ryësel Rofefä, sir. I am most skilled with a knife

Guard: Good but can your human even hit a redwood with a stick?

Ryësel: He is not my human. I just met him today. We are roommates. You must ask him.

Cruz: I am offended, sir! I could take out a fly with a penny from fifty feet!

A scream is heard northwest of their location.

Guard: Human, go to the market. I have work to do, and I will let you know if I ever have need of a fly-killer. Now scram! Ryësel, follow me.
