Make an installation media

• 1. Download an ISO image of the latest Ubuntu desktop from ubuntu.com.

  2. Burn the iso image to a DVD media.

  3. # dd bs=4M if=~/Downloads/ubuntu-xx.xx-desktop-amd64.iso && sync

  4. You can make a startup disk onto a USB.

Install

• 1. Insert the installation DVD or startup disk, then reboot

1. Welcome / Wireless / Preparing to install Ubuntu

   1. Installation type

      • Clean installation

      • Multiple boots

      • Install onto a USB memory

2. Where are you? / Keyboard layout / Who are you?

• 1. wait

3. Installation complete / Remove the installation medium
