How to write a bio for the POP program:

This is NOT a resume DO NOT list EVERY credit you can think of…limit it to 3-5 theatrical highlights….things you might be known for. Also, include a little something about you outside the theatre realm like “Rachel has been an NHS member for 4 years.” Do not give out overly personal info like “Rachel is newly divorced and desperate for love.” Thank yous should be limited to one or maybe 2 groups or individuals…no long lists… A funny little bit or statement is fine as long as it is appropriate and doesn’t isolate your readers from you…you want the audience to love you before you even step on stageJ

Enter your bio in the google doc by January 22nd (or your bio will not be in the program)

BIO Format: 3-4 sentences, paragraph form, in third person

Amongst her favorite roles: Queen of Athens in The Love of the Nightingale, Mrs. Higgins in Pygmalion and Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz. She studied education at the University of Texas at Austin before realizing teaching wasn’t really her thing. She promptly announced to the world she would be an actress and hasn’t been taken seriously since.

Rachel DuPree (Chorus) makes her debut on this stage. She has never performed before this production, but has really enjoyed the experience. She enjoys singing and dancing and has found the challenge of a live show thrilling. She would like to thank the theatre family for welcoming her as well as each and every one of you for coming to see her show. Please form a line outside her dressing room after final curtain.

Rachel DuPree (Lighting Technician) has played many roles behind the scenes over the last few years. She was Stage Manager for Lakeside Summer Musicals’ Bye Bye Birdie, and has served as Sound Designer for Broken Glass & Spiked Heels.
