Cherry PIE
Cherry PIE is a font we created based on Summer Institute of Linguistics' Charis SIL. It can be used with PIE on all major platforms (Windows, Mac OS X and Linux).
Cherry PIE is licensed under the SIL Open Font License, which essentially allows you to use it freely for both commercial and non-commercial purposes.
You can download the font package here: CherryPIE.zip. It contains 4 TrueType font files that have to be installed onto your operating system:
- CherryPIE-R.ttf
- CherryPIE-I.ttf
- CherryPIE-B.ttf
- CherryPIE-BI.ttf
To install these font files, first unzip CherryPIE.zip to a temporary folder on your hard disk. Then open that folder in your file browser, and
- In Windows, just right-click each .ttf file and choose "Install".
- In Mac OS X, just double-click each .ttf file to open it in "Font Book". Then you will see an "Install" button. Click this button to install that font file.
- In Linux, you may need to copy the 4 .ttf files to ~/.fonts and in that directory run "fc-cache" (without quotes).
After installation, applications such as Chrome need to be restarted to recognize the new font.
