The White Christ is a large statue of Jesus Christ (8 m) that watches over the city of Cusco. The statue was built in 1945 by Francisco Olazo Allende, a local artist who also designed the Santa Clara Arch in Cusco.
The white Jesus Christ resembles the Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), but it is a smaller version of this.
Cristo Blanco is located next to the ruins of Saqsayhuaman and from here you have an impressive view of the entire city of Cusco.
Both places are definitely worth a visit if you are in Cusco. Especially at night you will be fascinated by the magical view of the city!
The Plaza de Armas is the central core of the city with cathedrals, shops and many restaurants. It is also often a meeting place for day trips that begin in Cusco.
Here you will find many different festivals and parades taking place, such as Easter, Corpus Christi, Inti Raymi and New Year.
We recommend that you go to one of the cafés, which has a balcony overlooking the Plaza de Armas, so you can enjoy the view.
More Information:
You can find the district of San Blas, in 5 minutes walk from the Plaza de Armas. It is one of the most beautiful areas of Cusco and known for its many small shops and narrow streets.
In fact, it is one of the most picturesque neighborhoods in Cusco, which makes it famous among the influencers who visit Cusco.
In addition to the narrow streets and the artists' neighborhood, you will also find many good cafés, restaurants or bars. There are also some beautiful viewpoints, such as the Mirador San Blas, from which you have a great view of the city
Huayna Picchu (2693 m) offers incredible views of the Machu Picchu ruins and Machu Picchu mountain.
The hike to the Huayna Picchu mountain takes about 1.5 - 2 hours (3 hours in total). However, the road is steep and narrow, so you should be sure that you have no problems with that before making a reservation.
Therefore, we recommend the walk to Huayna Picchu only if you are not afraid of heights and are in good physical condition.
The most important thing is that you book your tickets 6-8 weeks in advance to make sure you are one of the 400 daily visitors who can climb the mountain.
However, if you have the opportunity to make the hike to the Huayna Picchu mountain, do not miss it! In Exploor, we believe it is a very spectacular experience, rewarded with an impressive view.

Moray is a great attraction in the Sacred Valley of the Incas of Cusco. The powerful and round Inca terraces are really impressive and look like a Roman amphitheater.
Due to its design, its depth and its orientation to the wind and the sun, there can be a large temperature difference of up to 15 ° C between the top and bottom of the terraces ... crazy, right? The Incas have used this difference to plant different crops at each level and to test what grows best.
We offer two tours that include a visit to Moray: our day trip in the Sacred Valley or an adventurous ATV tour.

The Rainbow Mountain Palccoyo is located about 4900 m, 3.5 hours south of Cusco. It is one of our favorite tours, since the 45-minute walk is easy despite the extreme altitude.
Often during the walk we have an alpaca or a llama that accompanies us and a star for our travelers.
At the highest point, you have an incredible view of three different rainbow mountains.
The best thing about Palccoyo Rainbow Mountain is that it is not yet as famous compared to Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain. That is why our tour is the first to arrive without other tourists blocking your view.
As I said, you don't have to be an athlete to complete this hike, but you should definitely acclimatize to avoid altitude sickness.
You can take fantastic photos with the three rainbow mountains in the background and your partner, the Alkpaka or the Lama.
The salt mines of Maras are another highlight in Cusco that you cannot miss. The ponds have been used since the Inca period by evaporating salt water from a groundwater stream. This process has been practiced for more than 500 years, isn't it amazing?
This impressive place is one of the many places you will visit during our tour of the Sacred Valley. At the end of your visit to the salt terraces, you can buy a delicious salt chocolate and several types of salt that are perfect for cooking.
Attention: since mid-June, it is no longer possible to walk between the salt terraces. Since then it can only go to the general point of view. This is no cause for concern, since you can still get wonderful images!

After a 90-120 minute walk, you can be one of the first travelers to visit the beautiful Lake Humantay at more than 4,200 m.
If you are worried about the altitude or if you can walk to the lake, you can rent a horse for about S / 70 (€ 19).
Once you reach the crystal clear lake, you will have approximately 6 minutes to take photos, walk and enjoy the Humantay lake. Our guide will show you some incredible places that most tourists will not reach.
With a little luck, you can see the Salkantay mountain (6,271m), one of the highest mountains in Cusco. If you choose the Salkantay Trail, you will see Humantay Lake Tour on your first day.
You should not miss this unique place, where it is surrounded by a crystalline lake and snowy mountains.
Rainbow Mountain Peru tour is one of the most famous Instagram commercials of all time. Often, the photos are largely edited to make the mountain shine even more with your rainbow-colored dress. Edited or not, the place is definitely something very special.
In recent years, Vinicunca Mountain has gained a lot of popularity and is now visited by up to 1000-2000 tourists per day.
The walk lasts approximately 90-120 minutes to the top and is much more difficult than the walk to the alternative Palccoyo rainbow mountain. More information can be found in our comparison of the two rainbow mountains.
Instead of other agencies that only walk to the point of view of the Rott Valley, we walk through the entire valley. The good thing is that there are almost no other tourists around us, so we can enjoy the red landscape with alpacas and llamas by ourselves.
The legendary Machu Picchu is the most popular place on Instagram in Peru. No wonder, because it is one of the most popular tourist destinations not only in Peru but throughout South America.
Usually, take the bus from Cusco to Poroy / Ollantaytambo and from there by train to Aguas Calientes (city of Machu Picchu). When you arrive in Aguas Calientes, you must take a shuttle bus to the entrance of Machu Picchu or walk along the path.
If you decide to take a guided tour of the Machu Picchu Ruins, you will need around 2 to 2.5 hours to visit the main places.
Machu Picchu photos will always receive the most likes and comments, especially if you share them with your partner.

Other famous places in Machu Picchu are Huayna Picchu, Machu Picchu mountain or Puerta del Sol Inti Punku. These are all walks you can do from Machu Picchu.
