Fall 2012: Pascal Germain
Pascal Germain is a student in the Department of Health, Physical Education, and Movement Science. Pascal’s supervising professor describes him as “a student who is eager to take charge in helping young people learn to take full advantage of their physical capabilities. Pascal encourages critical thinking, actively engages his students, and promotes positive social interaction.” When Pascal started student teaching, he said that he was going to devote his mind, body, and soul to teaching so that he could become the best educator he could be.
Spring 2013: Kimberly Van Aken
Kimberly Van Aken
While working in a counseling center as a play therapy assistant, Kimberly realized that she wanted to work with children in an educational setting. She recognized that she possessed many qualities of a good teacher. She was flexible, had effective organizational skills, and had the ability to be firm, yet compassionate.
According to her college supervisors, Kimberly monitors and adjusts strategies in response to learner feedback. She also participates in professional activities and displays leadership ability in the classroom and in the school.
