2014

Read for the Record is an annual event to support community literacy. People across the country will unite to read the children’s book Bunny Cakes, a comical story of sibling bonding and birthday shenanigans, by bestselling author and illustrator Rosemary Wells. In support of Jumpstart’s mission: to work toward the day every child in America enters kindergarten prepared to succeed, PDK Chapter 1524 at LIU Post will continue to partner with Jumpstart to kick off Read for the Record on Tuesday, October 21, 2014.

Each participant will receive a Certificate of Participation. Also, participants’ names will be posted on the website of PDK Chapter 1524 at LIU Post and in the Instructional Media Center of the B. Davis Schwartz Library.

By encouraging a single, common day of reading engagement where participants read the same book, we hope to set a new world record!Read Now (Click here for online book)In order to receive a certificate of completion, please submit the completion form and email it as an attachment to PDK Capter 1524 at pdk1524president@gmail.com.
